What to do with all this beeswax?

Why Lip Balms? Well, we wondered what to do with all our beeswax. Beeswax from your own hive is worth its weight in gold. Bees fly some 150,000 miles to produce 1 lb (454g) of wax. For every 100lbs of honey present in a hive, a beekeeper harvests only 1–2 lbs of wax. So, we started gathering the beeswax from the hives, and thought of lip balms. Hand creams and lotions to come. The skin is the body’s largest organ. We eliminate toxins though it and it produces vitamin D after exposure to sunlight. It makes sense to be careful what we put onto our skin so it does not stop these processes. Many commercial skincare products contain petrochemicals, which can block the skin’s pores causing dryness and irritation. When you start to make your own products you know exactly what is going into them. This is how we started making our own lip balms using our own beeswax. and organic oils.
